Rules:
The entire course is open to all traffic. YOU MUST OBEY ALL TRAFFIC LAWS AS THEY APPLY TO BICYCLES AT ALL TIMES!

Please stay to the right hand side of the road and do not block vehicle traffic!

Please be respectful of other riders. If you do ride with aero bars, do not ride in a pack with others. If someone has a flat or other issue mechanical or otherwise, please try to assist him/her.

BE SAFE!!!!

Weather:

Typically the ride weather is somewhat hot, with temperatures in the mid-80s. The 95 mile route actually drops significantly lower in elevation, and therefore temperatures can be as high as near 100 degrees for the mid-portion of the ride.

IMPORTANT! Afternoon monsoon rainstorms are common at this event! Bring a rain jacket! At elevation, temperatures can drop quickly in these storms. If you get caught out in a thunderstorm, please be aware of the dangers that lightning and hypothermia can present.

ALSO IMPORTANT! Carry plenty of water! We have lots of sag support and well stocked rest stops, but you should be hydrating regularly throughout the entire ride. The combination of elevation and temperatures can lead to dehydration quickly. Drink early and often. Electrolyte drinks are highly recommended.

sunset craterRoutes:

This ride is well supported by sag vehicles. If you are unable to complete whichever ride you chose, we should be along shortly to help you or pick you up if you need a ride. We recommend that you install new tires before this ride. Road conditions can vary and there can be some debris on the shoulder that can cause flats. Ideally, we recommend a Specialized Armadillo Elite tire or something similar.
